Laban7 Whitney (Laban6, Elias5, Elias4, Jonathan3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Laban6 and Olive (Green) Whitney, was born 6 Jan 1815, Bellingham, MA,[1] and died 1 Sep 1895. He was buried in Stuyvesant Falls Cemetery, Stuyvesant Falls, NY.[2]

He married firstly, 10 Apr 1841, Mary Sickles. She was born 20 Dec 1821, and died 13 Dec 1877. She was buried in Stuyvesant Falls Cemetery, Stuyvesant Falls, NY.[3]

He married secondly, 31 Oct 1880, St. Lukes Millville, Valatie, NY, Elizabeth P. Wetherwax.[4]

He is a bootmaker; resided Stockport, NY, Bellingham, Milford, and Blackstone, MA.

He enlisted on 24 Apr 1838 at Albany, by Lt. Gatlin, in Co. H, 8th U.S. Infantry for three years, described as aged 23, born in MA, having blue eyes, 5 feet 5-1/2 inches tall, a shoemaker, from Worcester Co., MA. He was discharged 26 Apr 1841, for expiration of service. He served at Fort Brooke, East Florida (A Corporal).[5]

He was a soldier in the Indian Wars, Birdsville Co. 8, U.S. Infantry, for which service he applied for a pension on 16 Feb 1893, from New York. The application number was 4123, and the certificate number was 3145.[6]
