Hon. Richard Harris7 Whitney, (Cyrus6, Isaiah5, Isaiah4, Isaiah3, Thomas2, John1), son of Cyrus6 and Mary (Whitney) Whitney, was born 2 Nov 1808, Harvard, MA,[1] and died 11 Jul 1867, Adrian, MI.

He married firstly, 22 Feb 1837, Harvard, MA, Nancy Flagg7 Whitney,[2] daughter of Aaron6 and Sally (Flagg) Whitney. She was born 28 May 1814, Harvard, MA,[3] and died 6 Sep 1852.

He married secondly, 22 Mar 1854, Dover, MI, Dorcas Fisk, daughter of Jabez and Catherine (Ten Brooke) Fisk. She was born 18 Dec 1823, Veteran, NY, and died 1905. She was buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Adrian, MI.[4]

Richard H. Whitney, son of Cyrus Whitney of Harvard, MA, was born at Harvard, MA, 1808 and died at Adrian, MI, 11 Jul 1867. He was a self made man and successful in life as to accumulating property and making and holding funds. He left an estate of $125,000 which was divided 1/3 to his second wife Dorcas Fisk Whitney and the remaining 2/3 divided among his six children. He was mayor of Adrian in 1857 and held the office of justice of the peace many years, and died at the age of 57, honored and respected by all who knew him. He resided Albany, NY, and Adrian, MI.

ii. Edward Livingston Whitney, b. 7 Sep 1840; m. Eliza J. Curry.
iii. Channing Whitney, b. 28 Dec 1842; m. Nellie M. Cornell.
iv. Charles Carroll Whitney, b. 4 Jul 1844; m. Emma Lapham.
v. Aaron Augustus Whitney, b. 7 Feb 1850; m. Clintina S. Curtis.

vi. Richard Harris Whitney, b. 22 Sep 1856; unmarried; resided Adrian, MI. He has since 10 years of age been afflicted with epilepsy and unfitted for active business life although at times bright and smart and active.
vii. Henry Hart Whitney, b. 18 Jan 1858; d. 22 Sep 1860.
