Robert1 Whitney, parentage unknown, was born about 1811-1826, England, and died after 1880.
He married, before 1865, Mary E. -----. She was born about 1835, and died after 1880.
He enlisted 23 Aug 1862, Biddeford, ME, in the 20th Maine Infantry. He was 5' 6" tall, light complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes, a laborer. The enlistment was rejected.[1]
