Samuel S.7 Whitney (Ebenezer6, George5, Jason4, Mark3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Ebenezer6 and Sarah F. (Leighton) Whitney, was born 18 Feb 1848, Dedham, MA,[1] and died 12 Apr 1909, Boston, MA, aged 61 years 3 months, of probable malignant disease of spine.[2]
He married, say 1872, Margaret Wallace Little, daughter of Rev. Samuel P. and Mary Ellen (Wallace) Little. She was born about 1853, Richmond, KY.
He was a gauger.

i. Mary Ellen8 Whitney, b. 3 Oct 1873, Natick, MA;[3] "Narda" in 1900, then unmarried. ii. Leighton Wallace Whitney, b. 14 Dec 1875, Natick, MA;[4] m. 10 Nov 1909, Central Falls, RI (recorded in Winthrop, MA), Lillian Blanch (Fagin) Bassett, b. ca. 1879, Milton or Medford, MA, daughter of David Leonard and Marietta E. (Ripley) Fagin.[5] Child: a. Eleanor Elizabeth9 Whitney, b. 6 Apr 1910, Boston, MA.[6]
