Family:Whitney, Silas (s1792-a1840)
Silas Whitney, parentage unknown (but see Notes below), was born say 1792, and died after 1840.
He "of Bridgewater" married, 25 Feb 1818, Sharon (also Shrewsbury), VT, Sarah How "of Sharon",[1] daughter of Simeon and Hannah (Foster) Howe. She was born 11 June 1790, Sharon, VT, and apparently died after 1840.
Children of Silas and Sarah (How) Whitney:
i. Paul Whitney, b. 20 Jan 1819, Duxbury, VT; m. Jane E. Clarke. ii. Spencer Whitney, b. 8 Jun 1821, Sharon, VT; d. Feb 1825, Sharon, VT. ii. Jerusha L. Whitney, b. 5 Nov 1826, Sharon, VT; d. 11 Mar 1859, Warren, VT, aged 30 years 7 months; bur. Warren Village Cemetery, Warren, VT;[2] "of Warren, VT" m. 4 Nov 1849, Warren, VT, Daniel McAllister, of Fayston, VT.[3]
Notes
He may be the same as Silas P.8 Whitney, born 22 May 1792, Salisbury, VT, son of Silas7 and Esther (Weeks) Whitney, but no proof has yet been found.
