Silas Russell7 Whitney (Washington Silas7, Silas6, Aaron5, Samuel4, Richard3, John2, Henry1), son of Washington Silas7 and Nancy Maria (Horton) Whitney, was born Oct 1842, Peekskill, NY, or 6 Nov 1841, NY,[1] and died after 1900.
He married, 6 Apr 1864, Dawlish, Devonshire, England, Marina Charlotte Carpenter, "third daughter of the late Major-Gen. Carpenter of H. M.'s Indian Army."[2] She died after 1900.
Phoenix says:
- ". . ., b. at Peekskill, N. Y., about 1841; grad. at the University of New York; went to England, and there married ----- Carpenter, a dau. of "Gen. Carpenter;" and lived with his wife's mother in England, in 1873."
He is listed in city directories as living in Yonkers, NY, in 1888 (83 Buena Vista Ave.), 1904 (224 Woodworth Ave.), and 1905 (same).
