He married, 6 Aug 1895, Milford, MA, Charlotte E. Smith, daughter of Alverado and Mary (Hastings) Smith.[2] She was born about 1872, Marlboro, MA.

Nelson Harris Whitney, b. ca. 25 Mar 1900, Hopedale, MA; d. 21 May 1900, Hopedale, MA, aged 1 month 26 days, of whooping cough and convulsions.[5]
