Marriage intentions were published 23 Sep 1818, Standish, ME, for him "of Standish" and Anna Hancock "of Buxton".[1] He "Jr." married, 25 Oct 1818, Buxton, ME, Anna Hancock "of Buxton".[2] She was born 30 Sep 1798, Buxton, ME, and died 28 Sep 1849, Convene section of Sebago, ME.
He served in the War of 1812, "Whitney, William, Jr., Private, Capt. John York's Company, Lt. Col. J. Burbank's Regt. Served from September 7 to September 20, 1814, 1 day additional for travel. Raised at Standish, service at Portland."[3]
