William I. Whitney (Ezra E.), was born about 1853, OH or IN, son of (Ezra E. and Margaret (Bridger) Whitney), was born 17 Feb 1853, Hoosier Co., IN, and died 1 Dec 1942, Geneva, OH, aged 88 years 9 months 14 days.^[1]

He married, firstly, 9 Nov 1876, Amelia A. Rice, daughter of William and Julia Ann (Sweezey) Rice. She was born 9 Apr 1847, Harmony, NY, and died 10 May 1913, Mentor, OH.

He married secondly, 10 Apr 1920, Cuyahoga Co., OH, Sarah Priscilla (Flaugh) Trace, daughter of Samuell and Sarah (Baughman) Flaugh.^[2] She was born 23 Jul 1852, Crawford Co., PA, and died 24 Jan 1934, Meadville, PA. She was buried in Meadville, Crawford Co., PA. She had married firstly, before 1879, Jesse L. Trace, from who she was divorced 26 Feb 1901, Meadville, PA. In 1930 she was listed as widowed, and at death she was listed as Sarah Trace, widowed, so it seems likely that they, too, were divorced.
