Zerah Peter⁹ Whitney (Peter Isaac⁸, Zerah⁷, James⁶, Samuel⁵, Samuel⁴, Nathaniel³, John², John¹), son of Peter Isaac⁸ and Betsey (Porter) Whitney, was born 21 Sep 1836, Clarence Hollow, NY, and died after 1910.

He married, 22 Aug 1860, Amboy, IL, Charlotte Catherine McKenney, daughter of Jacob and Mary (McCall) McKenney. She was born 9 Nov 1833, Charlottesville, Canada West, and died after 1900.

He resided Lewis, IA, s. p.

Phoenix says the following:

"Zerah Peter Whitney, b. at Clarence Hollow, N.Y., 21 Sept. 1836; a farmer; married at Amboy, Ill., 22 Aug. 1860, Charlotte Catharine McKenney, whose parents then lived at Dixon, Ill. She was born at Charlotteville, Canada West, 9 Nov. 1833, dau. of Jacob and Mary (McCall) McKenney. They were living at Lewis, Iowa, in 1874, without children."
