Asa C. Whitney, parentage unknown, was born 9 Mar 1823, Dummerston, VT,[1] and died 14 Apr 1900, aged 77 years 1 month 5 days, of heart disease.[2]

He married firstly, 1 Jan 1851, Brookline, VT,[3] Marcia G. Wellman, daughter of De Louis and Laura (Holden) Wellman. She was born 23 May 1829, Brookline, VT, and died 22 Mar 1867, Dummerston, VT.[4]

He married secondly, between 1867 and 1870, Delia D. (Howe) Pike, daughter of Spooner and Phebe (Briggs) Howe.
