Cornelius6 Whitney (Cornelius5, Matthias4, Cornelius3, Joshua2, John1), son of Cornelius5 and Elizabeth (May) Whitney, was born 27 Jan 1782, Granville, NY, and died 19 Jun 1845, Pineville, NY.

He married, 1 Jan 1806, Rhoda Gould of Granville. She was born 25 Apr 1790, and died Apr 1840.

He resided in Killingly, CT, in early life, but soon moved to Granville, NY, where he married. In 1816 he moved to Ontario, and in 1837 to the Ridge road, where he ever after lived. He served in the war of 1812. He resided Mexico and Pineville, NY.

  • 1830, Albion, Oswego Co., NY: Cornelius Whitney, 1 male 40-49, 1 male 20-29, 2 males 15-19, 1 male 10-14, 2 males 5-9, 2 male 0-4, 1 female 40-49, and 1 female 10-14.
  • 1840: There is a 50-59 male listed in the household of his son Lucius in 1840 that I believe is Cornelius. It is also reported that Cornelius moved to Ridge road (Albion) and lived there until his death.
