Capt. David Whitney, son of Robert P. and Honora (Walker) Whitney, was born circa 1811, probably Bermuda, and died 29 Jun 1854, Grenada.
"1854, July 18: Capt. David Whitney, in his 43rd year, died on June 29 in Grenada, leaving a widow and 7 children; he had been on a voyage in the trading schooner Margaret Musson, of which he was part-owner."
He married 19 Jul 1832, Pembroke Parish, Bermuda, Ann Wood White.[1]
"1832, July 24: Capt. David Whitney married Ann Wood White, youngest daughter of William White, on July 19 in Pembroke."[2]

Notes
Note that he named a son "Frederick Augustus Rees Whitney". According to this page, Frederick Rees was married to a woman named Margaret Musson, the same name as that of the schooner he was part owner of. It is probable that Frederick Rees was the other part-owner of the schooner, and that he had named it after his wife.
According to this page, Thomas Lea Smith was the son of Thomas Lea and Dorcas (Frith) Smith, born 1802, Cluster Cottage, Warwick Bermuda, and died 7 May 1861, Bloomfield, Paget, Bermuda. He married Caroline Catherine Nelmes, was educated at Yale Medical School, and practiced in Bermuda as a physician.
