Elias7 Whitney (William E.6, John5, (poss.)Samuel4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of William E.6 and Sarah (Brackett) Whitney, was born about 1819, NY or IL, and died after 1880.

He married, 29 Dec 1841, Kendall Co., IL, Clarcy Hough or Clarissa Huff. She was born about 1824, NY, and died after 1880. Apparently there was a divorce, because she, as "Clarissa Huff", married secondly, 23 Oct 1854, Clinton Co., IA, John Long.[1] Her parents were born in CT and NY, respectively. They were living separately by 1850.
