He married, 1865, San Francisco, CA, Mary Lewis Swearingen. She was born 16 Jan 1841, Louisville, KY, and died 13 Oct 1927, Oakland, CA.

He was an attorney and died in Washington, DC, while on a business trip. He resided Oakland, CA, 578 8th street.
