John Beadon⁷ Whitney (Josiah⁶, Josiah⁵, David⁴, Benjamin³, John², John¹) son of Josiah⁶ and Mary (Barrett) Whitney, was born 7 Apr 1801, Ashby, MA,^[1] and died 26 Aug 1882, Ashby, MA.^[2]

He married, 1 Mar 1829, Ashby, MA, Harriett Cushing,^[3] daughter of David and Mary (-----) Cushing. She was born 15 Nov 1803, Boston, MA, and died 11 Jul 1875, Ashby, MA, aged 71 years 8 months, of pericarditis.^[4]

He married secondly, 15 Jun 1876, Ashby, MA, Sophronia (Hamblet) Boring, daughter of David and Polly (-----) Hamblet.^[5] She was born about 1816, and died before 1882.

He resided Ashby and Fitchburg, MA.
