John Bunyan⁸ Whitney (John G.⁷, Joseph⁶, Joseph⁵, Joshua⁴, Cornelius³, Joshua², John¹), son of John G.⁷ and Electa (Beecher) Whitney, was born 12 Aug 1846, Granville, NY, and died 12 Jun 1876. He is buried in Chatham Township Cemetery, Chatham, OH.^[1]

He married firstly, Anna Taylor.

He married secondly, 26 Mar 1868, Chatham, OH, Adelaide Lucinda Clapp, daughter of Luther L. and Hannah (Jackson) Clapp. She was born 29 Dec 1848, OH, and died 3 Jan 1926. She married secondly, 24 Mar 1908, Medina Co., OH, Jeremiah M. Chenoweth. She is buried in Chatham Township Cemetery, Chatham, OH.^[2]
