Josiah Francis⁷ Whitney (Silas⁶, Josiah⁵, Nathaniel⁴, Nathaniel³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Silas⁶ and Elvira J. (Lane) Whitney; born Gorham, Maine, 23 Mar 1825; married at Long Pond, Maine, 14 May 1850, Mary Moore, born Concord, Maine, 15 Mar 1833. He is a farmer; resided Solon, Maine.
