Justin8 Whitney (Horace7, Joel6, Jonas5, David4, Benjamin3, John2, John1), son of Horace7 and Mary (Sawin) Whitney, was born 9 Jul 1831, Westminster, MA,[1] and died 6 Feb 1905, Boston, MA, aged 73 years 6 months 28 days, of lobar pneumonia.[2]

He married firstly, 2 Nov 1856, Leominster, MA, Betsey Jane Winchester Taylor, daughter of Jonathan/Jonas and Eliza (-----) Taylor.[3] She was born 27 Sep 1831, Danbury, VT, and died 17 Nov 1863 [Pierce], or 17 Mar 1863, Boston, MA, aged 31 years 5 months 20 days, of puerperal fever.[4]

He married secondly, 14 Feb 1878, Boston, MA, Emma Jane Nash, daughter of Theophilus S. and Malinda S. (Snow) Nash.[5] She was born 5 Dec 1847, Boston, MA, and died 28 Mar 1908, Boston, MA, aged 60 years 3 months 21 days, of carcinoma of uterus.[6]

The life of Justin Whitney, son of Horace and Mary Whitney, born in Westminster, MA, 9 Jul 1831, is not of moment. At the age of 2 years moved to Hubbardston, MA. In 1845 returned to Westminster. In 1849 removed to Gardner, MA, and engaged in the chair business. In 1852 removed to Leominster, MA, and engaged in the pianoforte business. In 1857 removed to Boston and engaged in the pianoforte business. In 1868 engaged in the apothecary business in Boston, and still continues therein. Has held and does hold the commissions of a justice of the peace and notary public for the commonwealth of Massachusetts; resided 75 Kendall St., Boston, MA.

In 1862 he was a piano forte maker living at 37 Northfield St., Boston, MA. In 1878 he was an apothecary living in Boston, MA. In 1880-1895 he was a druggist living at 75 Kendall St., Boston, MA. In 1903-1905 he was a druggist living at 7 Marbury Terrace, Boston, MA.

iii. Gladys Justina Whitney, b. 27 Dec 1889, Boston, MA;[10] d. 5 Oct 1895, Boston, MA, aged 5 years 9 months 9 days, of biliary obstruction andcholaemia.[11]
