Probably he was the Luke Whitney to whom the following records pertain.

He married firstly, 29 Sep 1823, Bathsheba Brown, daughter of Lyman and Miriam7 (Whitney) Brown, and granddaughter of [[Family:Whitney, Samuel (1739-1811)|Samuel6 and Phebe (Harrington) Whitney. She was born 25 Nov 1804, Marlboro, VT, and died before 1850.

He married secondly, before 1870, Aurilla -----
