He married, 3 Jun 1843, Catherine Bird, daughter of Joseph Ward and Nancy (Clapp) Bird. She was born about 30 Nov 1820, Dorchester, MA, and died 27 May 1887, Boston, MA, aged 66 years 5 months 27 days, of intestinal colic.[2]
