Salmon7 Whitney (Salmon6, Jonas5, Jonas4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), born Harvard, Massachusetts, 31 Jan 1788; married Eliza Sumner; married 2d, 29 Dec 1829, Alsa P. Pond; born 19 Feb 1803; died June 1871. He was born in Harvard, Massachusetts, worked on the farm, and attended school winters as opportunity presented. He moved to Boston when but twenty-one years of age, and for half a century kept a salt fish store on Long Wharf. He died 17 May 1882; resided Boston, Massachusetts.

i. Davis S.8 Whitney, born 2 Oct 1824; married Mrs. Sarah T. Belcher.
ii. Elizabeth Augusta Whitney, born 22 Oct 1832.
iii. Henry Lyman Whitney, born 13 Nov 1834; died 6 Sep 1856
iv. Edward Whitney, born 3 Jan 1842; died 2 Apr 1846.
