Washington Dain7 Whitney (Jacob6, Samuel Lumber5, Benjamin4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Jacob6 and Christiana (Jordan) Whitney, was born 29 Dec 1842, Lisbon, ME,[1] and died after 1910.

He married firstly, 19 Aug 1862, Lisbon, ME, Mary E. C. Durgin.[2] Apparently they were divorced, since she married secondly, 20 Jun 1868, Lisbon, ME, Aaron Nutting.[3]

He married secondly, before 1870, Harriet Chase Newell, daughter of Samuel G. and Sophia Ann (Tyler) Newell. She was born 22 Aug 1834, Durham, ME, and died 3 Jun 1909, Malden, MA, aged 74 years 9 months 11 days, of lobar pneumonia.[4] They, too, may have been divorced, since she was called single in 1900.
