Zachariah3 Whitney (Walter2, Walter1, WalterA, TheophilusB), son of Walter and Caroline (Cross) Whitney, born 17 May 1851, Pentwynmawr Clydach Iron Works, near Llanelly, Breconshire. His birth was registered in the Crickhowell district. He died after 1900.
He married, circa 1876, Laurette / Loretta / Lewella Horton. She was born Dec 1856, PA. In 1900 she was listed as having had 8 children, 7 of whom were still living.
In 1880 he was listed as a miner.

ii. Evaline Whitney, b. 14 Oct 1877, PA. iii. Walter Whitney, b. Mar 1880, PA, probably died before 1886. iv. Amanda Whitney, b. Jan 1882, PA. v. Ruth Elizabeth Whitney, b. 4 May 1884, m. Samuel A. Blair, son of Samuel A. and Margaret (O'Neal) Blair, b. 31 Jul 1882. The family lived for a while in Six Mile Run. After Samuel's death in Oct. of 1931, Ruth (usually known as Elizabeth) moved to Huntingdon Co. where most of the remaining family are today. - Ch: Seibert Blair, b. 1900; Georgena Blair, b. Apr 1910; Margaret Blair, b. Sep 1912; Samuel Zachariah Blair, b. 5 May 1915, Garrett, PA; Clifford William Blair, b. 3 Oct 1921, Garrett, PA.

RUTH ELIZABETH -b. May 4, 1884. WALTER J. -b. Dec. 1886. THOMPSON Z. - b. July 16, 1899. RUEHAMA - b. ? BLAIR, SAMUEL A. -born May 11, 1857 ( location ? ) was married March 21, 1877 to MARGARET O'NEAL -born Feb. 9, 1861 (location?) They had Margaret Jane -b. April 28, 1878. Charles Albert -b.
