From: "Alice Harris" <akh -at- molalla.net> Subject: Re: [WHITNEY-L] Family Bible Rootsweb List Date: Wed, 18 Aug 1999 10:27:00 +0000 I, too, had an experience in getting scriptures back to the proper family. In this case is was an LDS "3 in 1". It had the name of Elise Olson inside the cover and gave the name of her father, saying it had belonged to him. I traced the names on the new familysearch.org and also the ancestral file at a FHC and came up with a submitter. She, however was a very distant relative and she suggested the following site called past connections. And it worked!! I was able to give the book to a 2ggrandaughter of Elise. And she belonged to a family organization so it will be shared by many. I have pasted the description and address of the site below. Alice Harris > Past Connections (<a href="http://www.pastconnect.com/">http://www.pastconnect.com/</a>) contains a searchable >database of family-related items found at flea markets, estate sales and >auctions. Everything from diplomas to birth certificates, receipts to >photos. If you discover an item from your family in the database, you >can contact the person who currently owns it.
