I am searching for words to express my feelings about the passing of Allan Green.

He was my cousin, my friend, and my mentor. Without him there would have been no Whitney Research Group. Allan pointed me in the right direction to find my 8th Great Grandfather, Henry Whitney. We found Joan Hicks who found Henry for me. We emailed each other a lot, and of course we lost touch a few years back, when I kind of dropped out of sight. Allan was a humanitarian.

He helped so many folks find their roots. I totaly enjoyed meeting him years ago when he came to visit in CA. I hope some other folks will find a way to express their thoughts about Allan and maybe write up a page on the Whitney webpage for sympathies or just expressing our memories of all he did for us.
