Arthur C. Whitney 1854-1951
Hi Robert,
I found this Whitney in Munroe Cemetery in Lexington, MA. His marriage record shows that his parents were John S. Whitney and Lydia [Hoar] Whitney. Her name is very hard to read though. Arthur was born in Boxborough, MA. I can't find Arthur in "Whitneys by given name" so I want to add him to the correct family page, but I can't find John either. Can you help?
Thanks, Crystal
Arthur Whitney
Wow! No wonder I had trouble finding him, thanks! I am going to add this information to my Find A Grave memorial, crediting the source of course :)
1810 NY Census Index
Robert,
In the 1810 census index for New York, there is a Josh Whitney listed for Franklin Co., but no link or extract. Do you know what that is about? I haven't found an 1810 census record for the Joshua Whitney family that I am currently developing.
Re: 1810 Census Index, II
Robert,
Thank you for checking into those records. It is very probable that this is the Joshua that I am developing the family page for. The family profile is a very close match to what I had with the exception of a 10-15 female who may have been married and moved out by the 1820 census. It also confirms the unknown son I have listed. The youngest son William was born in Jan 1810 and consistently listed NY as his birth state. I had reviewed all of the other Joshua's in NY state in 1810 and they all have credible links to known families.
Thanks again and thank you for adding the requested cemeteries.
New User! New Family!
Well Hello Mr. Robert Ward!
I was quite excited to find your Group and to find it being thoroughly thoughtout and communitively interactive!
I was also thrilled to get such a speedy reply and to find (after peeping your page)that we are in the same line, therefore, family!
Wonderful to "meet" you, virtually!
I have taken your advice and deleted the personal info to "livings". And Thank You so much for adding the links to our Ancestors, directly. <3
I would like to upload some photos of my Father (as he was a Bronze Medallion Winner of the Olympic Games 1974 in Munich, Germany. Discipline- "Running Boar"- International Rifle Team. As well as one of the "President´s 100").
As well as, that my line is related to Presidents- John Adams and John Quincy Adams And of course, John Adams Cousin Samuel Adams, Jr.. And I´ve downloaded a bit to that line, as well... for any who might be interested in the line being added within their own trees... even if it should not happen to be IN their direct branch.
And lastly, does my "default user page" become a "user page" eventually?
Thanking you for your effort, dedication and drive!
Highest regards, Another driven family member
Is this Your WIKI Page on Thomas Whitney and Mary Bray?
Just wondering, what you know... about what is listed here and if it coincides with "factual" events.

so who is related to who... and how? Thank you for your time and efforts, Theresa Renée
email contact. I believe, Grosvenor Family is possibly, intertwined
Hello again! I´ve been analysing the names in my Grosvenor line from Elizabeth Ann Whitney Grosvenor m. William Harrison Cromer.
It would seem these families were often somewhere a part of the LDS movement and also, intertwined spread out over seemingly, hundreds of years.
They also, seemed to migrate, to some areas together... From say, Boston, Vermont, Connecticut, New York, Maine towards Ohio, Ill., Michigan and farther out west...many to Utah, some farther. Some stayed put, some were in then, to be found migrated to Canada.
There are in this line of Grosvenor, the surnames as in the Whitney lines, here... Adams, Dutton, Boylston, Clarke/Clark, Davies, Baskerville, Waldo, Weld
and
first names as, Ebenezer, Lettice,Rebecca, Esther, William, Joseph, Robert, John, Thomas, Ira, Elijah, Nathaniel, Mary, Margaret, Susanna, Lucy, Elizabeth, Ann, Hiram ect.
If I could get a GEDCOM to you, I believe, it might possibly, assist in making some, yet unrealized, connections.
They also, BOTH have ties to earlier England and the "claims" to be descendants, from Normandy migrated to England sometime between- 1100 and 1200, with William "the Conqueror" also, known as William "the Great", registered in England and at the Hall of Arms, in London. Their descendant claim was to John the Hunter - Gros Venir Gros Venor ect.. see Scrope vs. Grosvenor case.
You have my email, with my registration. I hereby, give you my personal and explicit permission to contact me at this address, so I may provide you with a download of this GEDCOM.
Best regards, Theresa Renée
Grosvenor/Whitney
Of course, it wasn´t my intention to hold you up, with the Grosvenors... lol!
I honestly, believe, they (Whitneys and Grosvenors, as well as, the SMITHS, ADAMS, YOUNGS) knew each others Families, from England. And not at first, in MA/CT/VT/ME/NY.
If you should reconsider, overlooking the possibility. I am always, (from now on.) here... and happy to assist in any ways, I can.
I also, speak and read fluent German. Should you discover anything in this language, that needs translation to understand. I hereby, volunteer my services here, as well.
Wish You, Happy Hunting! lol!

Ford Letty, Ford Gerald Sr. & Jr., Ford Henry.
Hi Again,
It is also, still unknown... exactly, who Gerald Ford Sr.´s parents are... as he did have children with Gerald Ford Jr. U.S. President´s (born- Leslie King Jr.)´s, Mother. Dorothy Ayer Gardner. Just as it is not known (as far as, I could determine) who Letty Ford´s Grandparents are Ford sides. Or did I miss something?
I found this... http://www.oakbaydesigns.com/Maine/2andrews.htm#Family 2
The Ford´s of Ireland, From which Henry´s line is from, are mostly imports of English immigrations.
Since the Peerage.com (also a critically aclaimed and seemingly, serious address.) has Ford´s listed in 1600´s in England (where Letty Ford´s possibly originate) and immigrations to "America with the Mother" ect. .. I didn´t see it, as an apple sooooo far fallen, from the tree.
Is there a general summary, a book one can order of yours and your verified findings? I do so hate to bother you. I know, you are on a mission! *smile* I am sort of on the same mission, different viewpoint.
There are so many "Theories" and "possibles" within Thomas´s parentage. Their wives maiden names and parentage.
So many children born within 100yrs. named John and Benjamin. lol!
I´m finding it difficult to stand back and be able to get the complete picture.
I will of course, continue attempting to follow, all of the incredible information you all have collected. And am deeply appreciative of all of your efforts!
Theresa Renée
our relation, 9th cousins 2x removed?
Hi R.W., just curious and way too confused to figure it out myself. lol! best regards!TRT
Asa Whitney/more
Hi, Robert! Thanks for replying to me, Mra823. I was looking over a paper that Whitney R. Allen gave to my grandfather's sister before he died. He has done some research himself about the Whitney family before he died. That is where I got most of the information for the Whitney family. I noticed that the Asa Whitney that you had on this website, and the Asa Whitney I have on the paper, are different. On my paper, it states that his name was Asa Taft I. It states that he married a Sarah Whitney. This is where it doesn't make any sense to me. Somewhere in the family line, there was an Asa Whitney, so I'm not sure if his name changed to Asa Whitney, or not. That would be very unusual though, for a husband to change his last name to his wife's. It states that he was born on April 29, 1774, and his father was named Silas. So, maybe it's a different Asa. Also, I found that Luella M.'s (the wife of Erwin B. Whitney) last name was "Self".
Thanks, Matt Allen
Thank you so much.
Robert, Thank you so much for your info. It helps a lot. I got so much more new information about the Whitney's that I didn't have in the paper Whitney R. Allen had. Thank you so much again for taking the time to help me. I'll keep in contact if I find any new information about the Whitney's.
Thanks, Matt Allen

Hello
I have done more work and have traced my family. It didn't follow the track you put me on, but that gave me clues. We are related quite a ways back, but certainly in the same extended family.
Jason Whitney had a son Aaron Ferdinand, who is listed as marrying Almira Sophia Gleason. Aaron and Almira had a daughter named Agnes M. Agnes married Herman James Bugbee and had a son Lester Gordon Bugbee. Lester's daugter, Priscilla Agnes, is my grandmother. Aaron Ferdinand doesn't have his own page and I don't know how to include the information I have. I also have a wonderful photocopy of a photo from a 1919 Whitney Family reunion that has all of these people, and many more, in the photo. The photo has a key as well. I don't know how to include any of the information I have. I'm sure many people would enjoy seeing this photo. It was taken in Massachusetts, probably near Fitchburg.
1850 Census Extracts, Massachusetts, Mortality Schedules
Robert,
Thank you for sorting the above, but I used the "undo" function to restore it to where I had left off. I prefer to keep them in the same order as listed in the Ancestry.com search until it's complete. It makes it a lot easier to find where I left off. Massachusetts wasn't complete as there are 37 Whitneys listed on the mortality schedules. I will sort the list on Saturday.
I also left some fields blank as Ancestry appears to be having an issue with some of there images and I couldn't view them. I have contacted them and will enter the info if they correct the problem before I move on to the next state or enter ?'s.
Aaron Ferdinand Whitney page
Thank you so much for making that page. His children and their spouses and kids are all the people in my photo from 1919. I'm going to have to mail a copy of it and the key to you. I don't have a way to digitize it right now. Just let me know how to do that. I can't wait for you to see the picture.
