My great, great, great grandfather was Horace Whitney, who married Hannah Towne, my great great grandmother was the 6 child born, Hellen b abt 1828, who married Joseph Dresser in 1866, Hellen dod 1873, Whitney Crossings, Allegany Co, New York. Helen and Joseph had 3 children and my grandfather was Fred Norton Dresser born June 13, 1867, married Mary Elizabeth Cleveland b. July 4, 1867, Swains, New York, married February 22, 1888, Fred died August 22, 1952, Garwoods, New York, and Mary died Nov 8, 1942, Hornell, Steuben County, New York. My mother Lura Dresser Sommers dob: Nov 22, 1902, pob: Garwoods, New York, was the 7th child born to Fred and Mary Dresser. Lura married George Lewis Sommers, March 15, 1924 in Swains, Allegany County, New York. Lura's dod: August 1, 1998, Hornell, New York. George dob is Sept. 1901, pob Conesus, Livingston County, New York, dod: Jan. 15, 1995, Hornell, Steuben County, New York. Both are buried in the Canaseraga Cemetery, Canaseraga, Allegany County, New York.
