I am searching for information on a Sarah/Sally Whitney who married a Tuell or Stowell Metcalf in Lewiston, Maine abt 1802. The family lived in Lisbon, Maine and Sarah Metcalf is listed in Lisbon in 1840 then they disappear. Their son George Metcalf was born in Lisbon 1808. He may have married before 1840, but in 1850 he is in Aroostook County and married to a Sarah who is considerably younger than he is. George dies before 1860, and Sarah remarried. Any help on identifying Sarah/ Sally Whitney and possibly more about Mr. Metcalf would be appreciated.As far as I know she is the only Whitney in my direct line but Im still learning the maternal lines in some of my earliest family groups.
