Edit My Whitney Line

My background is probably very similar to everyone else, that is I have been interested and following my families genealogy for many years...probably twenty plus. I am a retired data and evaluation manager and so much of this research comes very naturally to me. In the past 5 - 8 years I have intensified my efforts to trace my grandmother's ancestry. The Elder Henry Cobb line is my primary family and my grandmother, (Lura Cobb) is a direct descendant. The Elder Henry Cobb of Plymouth, Scituate, and Barnstable is only a beginning, as it is off of this family line that I connect with many long established families, such as the Whitney's. Other family lines that the Cobb's connect with are: Hinckley, Lewes/Lewis, Gorham, Howland, Tilley, Lawrence, Doty, Hicks,...among many others. I am currently in the process of trying to consolidate my data and information into a single source...to tell my grandmother's story...my family's story...and of course this has been quite daunting at times. Some would say crazy! I love it though and love the history, the stories that are revealed as you move along further and further back in time. I am always willing to share my information and welcome feedback, corrections, etc. Thank you all for allowing me to join your community. ---Jim
