II. Martha Ann Whitney, b. at Barre, N.Y., 28 Dec. 1839; married there, 23 Feb. 1858, Austin Westbrook Salisbury, a farmer, who was born at Clarendon, N.Y., 23 Aug. 1834, son of Abraham and ----- (Austin) Salisbury. They were living at Clarendon in 1874.

III. Sarah Elizabeth Whitney, b. at Shelby, N.Y., 23 Aug. 1841; married at Albion, N.Y., 6 Oct 1862, by Rev. Loren Stiles, Free Methodist, to Samuel Augustus Stringham, a farmer, whose parents moved from Pleasant Valley, N.Y., in 1835, to Aurelius, N.Y., settling on a farm three miles south-west from Auburn, on the road to Union Springs. He was born at Pleasant Valley, 19 Oct 1832, son of Samuel and Elizabeth (Ward) Stringham. They settled at Aurelius, where he managed his father's farm. She died there, from congestion of the brain, 19 Jan. 1865, and was buried in Fort Hill Cemetery, Auburn. He married a second wife in the Spring of 1866; and settled on a farm in Newton, Mich., where he was living in Aug. 1874. She died 30 Nov. 1872, leaving two small children.

IV. Mary Whitney, b. at Barre, N.Y., 8 Aug. 1843; married in the house of her uncle, Jesse Whitney, at Fairport, N.Y., 13 March 1861, by Rev. William H. Lord, Episcopal, to Edmund Embury Lord, a farmer and fruit-grower, whose parents then lived at Fairport He was born at Barrington, N.Y., 31 May 1839, son of William and Nancy (Corbett) Lord. They dwelt at Pittsford, N.Y., from Ap. 1861 till Oct 1861; at Fairport till I Ap. 1867; and then moved to Newark, N.Y., where they were living in Nov. 1874.
