Asahel7 Whitney, (John6, John5, Joshua4, Joshua3, Benjamin2, John1) son of John and Polly (Gibbs) Whitney, was born 30 Aug 1809, Broome Co., NY.

He married 2 Oct 1838, Ashtabula Co., OH, Harriet N. Hatch, dau. of Luther and Polly (Morrill) Hatch. She was b. ca. 1817, VT, and d. aft. 1900, Santa Barbara, CA.

Children of Asahel and Harriet N. (Hatch) Whitney:

i. Elmira Whitney, b. ca. 1838, OH.
ii. John Whitney, b. ca. 1839, OH.
iii. Albert Whitney, b. ca. 1842, OH.
