James6 Whitney (Ezra5, James4, John3, Jonathan2, John1), son of Ezra5 and Mercy (Morse) Whitney, was born 15 Dec 1764, Mendon, MA,[1] and died 1822, Craftsbury, VT.
He married firstly, 18 Oct 1787, Douglas, MA, Ruth Knapp,[2] daughter of Job and Ruth (Reed) Knapp. She was born about 1766, Douglas, MA,[3] and died 25 May 1793, Douglas, MA, aged 27 years.[4]
Marriage intentions were published 27 Oct 1793, Douglas, MA, for him and Mary Robinson "of Dudley".[5] He "of Douglas" married secondly, 24 Nov 1793, Dudley, MA, Mary Robinson,[6] of Oxford, MA, daughter of Silas and Susannah (Moore) Robinson. She was born 8 Oct 1771, Dudley, MA, and died 18 Jan 1805, Woodstock, CT.
He married thirdly, 24 Feb 1805, Woodstock, CT, "Mrs." Clarissa Gould, daughter of Bezaleel and Bathsheba (Robinson) Gould. She was born 31 Oct 1783, Douglas, MA; died 13 Oct 1852, Craftsbury, VT, aged 69 years.
He resided East Woodstock, CT, Oxford, MA, and Craftsbury, VT.
