George Clay⁷ Whitney (Samuel⁶, Isaac⁵, Jason⁴, Mark³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Samuel⁶ and Ann (Stroup) Whitney, was born 13 Jul 1844 and died 14 Nov 1904.

He married, 17 Jun 1877, Martha A. Fries. She was born about 1858, MI, and died after 1882.

He served in the late war in a Michigan regiment. Is a farmer; 3 ch.; resided Mount Clemens, MI.
