Welcome P.8 Whitney (Asa7, Eleazer6, Nathan5, Thomas4, Eleazar3, Thomas2, John1), son of Asa7 and Martha (Cook) Whitney, was born about 1816, Halifax, VT, and died 17 Mar 1869, Readsboro, VT, aged 53 years.

He married, say 1835, Ruth B. Lake, daughter of Burden and Hannah (Gatrix) Lake. She was born 26 Dec 1819, Heath, MA, or Whitingham, VT, and died 13 Feb 1888, Whitingham, VT. She married secondly, 21 Sep 1871, Whitingham, VT, or Heath, MA, Joseph Farnum, son of ----- and Martha (Harrington) Farnum, born about 1811, Conway, MA.[1]
