Robert Patten7 Whitney (Joseph6, Joseph5, Abel4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Joseph6 and Nancy (Hunter) Whitney, was born 13 Oct 1819, Lubec, ME,[1] and died 20 Nov 1897, Topsham, ME.

He married firstly, 17 Jun 1846, Topsham, ME, Ruth F. Sprague,[2] daughter of Willis S. Sprague. She was born 1 Mar 1824, Topsham, ME,[3] and died 3 Apr 1868, Topsham, ME.[4]

He married secondly, intentions in Topsham, ME, 10 Nov 1869, Margaret P. Haley.[5] She was born 14 Mar 1835,[6] and died 2 Jul 1903, Topsham, ME.

Robert, both of his wives, and his daughter Mabel are all buried in Riverside Cemetery in Topsham.
