James Drake Cate8 Whitney (Silas Stacy7, Hananiah6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), born Center Harbor, New Hampshire, 28 Mar 1838; married 15 Aug 1867, Alice Josephine Jennings; born 9 Jan 1842. Frank C. Whitney

He was born in Center Harbor, New Hampshire. Came to Chicago with his father in Mar., 1855. Has been employed in various capacities and for different individuals during his life there. Went into the army as a private in 1861; came out a private in 1863. Was in the employ of the city in the capacity of assistant secretary of the board of public works, under Secretary A. W. Tinkham, for some nine or ten years. Is now in the employ of the government, in the department of the interior, at the Indian supply warehouse in Chicago; resided 453 Belden Ave., Chicago, Illinois; s. p.
