Martha White7 Whitney (Abiezer Holbrook6, Nathan5, Benjamin4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), daughter of Abiezer Holbrook6 and Elizabeth (White) Whitney, was born 29 Feb 1836, Augusta, ME,[1] and died 16 Feb 1905, New Orleans, LA.
She married firstly, 17 Oct 1854, New Orleans, LA,, Thomas G. Godfrey, son of John and Mercy (Whitney) Godfrey, of Lisbon, ME. He was born 17 Sep 1815 or 1814, and died 13 Jun 1860, New Orleans, LA.
He was a stevedore. He is buried in the Cypress Grove Cemetery, New Orleans, LA.
She married secondly, 7 Oct 1869, Dr. Stephen Chapen Russell. He was born 25 Sep 1819, ME, and died 11 Jun 1902, New Orleans, LA. He was a physician, and resided 104 Orange St., New Orleans, LA. He was also a veteran of the Civil War. He was Acting Asst. Surgeon, U.S.A., and Post Surgeon, U.S. Volunteers. He and Martha are buried in the Cypress Grove Cemetery, New Orleans, LA.
