Charles Louis8 Whitney (John Drury7, Ebenezer6, (Micah5, Abel4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of John Drury7 and Eldusty (Peary) Whitney, was born 9 Feb 1874, Freeman, ME, and died 8 Oct 1949, Dedham, MA.
He married 3 Nov 1896, Hyde Park, MA, Florence Jessie Gibson, daughter of William M. and Ellen M. (Phinney) Gibson. She was born 28 Mar 1878, Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, and died 28 Dec 1951, Dedham, MA.
Charles was a clerk in the Adams and American Express Co. in Hyde Park, MA. He retired from there after 48 years of service. He also played first trumpet in the 110th Cavalry Band (mounted) of Boston. This was a U.S. Army Reserve unit, and the only mounted band in the country at that time. Florence immigrated from New Brunswick, Canada in 1888 and became a naturalized citizen of the US in 1896.
Charles and Florence are buried in the Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham, MA.
