Clark Lyman⁸ Whitney (Samuel⁷, Samuel⁶, Samuel⁵, Nathaniel⁴, Nathaniel³, John², John¹), son of Samuel⁷ and Susanna (Kimball) Whitney, was born 6 May 1809, Brown's Tract, NY, and died 5 Apr 1851, Voree, WI^[1] (but see note below).

He married, about 1839, Nauvoo, IL, Rhoda Ann Ballard, daughter of Ebenezer and Sophia (Richardson) Ballard. She was born 10 Jun 1822, Windham, CT, and died 30 Mar 1901, Merrillian, Jackson County, Wisconsin.

He married, 30 Jan 1846, Nauvoo, IL, Adeline Elizabeth Ballard, daughter of Ebenezer and Sophia (Richardson) Ballard. She was born 1826, Windham, CT, and died after 1880.

He married, 30 Jan 1846, Nauvoo, IL, Nancy I. (Richardson) Wright, daughter of Joseph R. and Lydia (Graves) Richardson. She was born 21 Sep 1787, Leominster, MA, and died 29 Aug 1864, Black River Falls, Jackson Co., WI. She had married firstly, 15 Jan 1829, Giles Co., TN, Benjamin Guyle Wright.
