Granville Whitney (Ammi Ruhamah, James, [poss.] Isaac4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Ammi Ruhamah and Hannah (Hall) Whitney, was born 23 Feb 1831, Falmouth, ME, and died 10 Dec 1898, Boston, MA.

He married 23 Oct 1855, Boston, MA, Matilda A. Clayton, daughter of Bartholomew and Mary (Tarr) Clayton.[1] She was born 23 Apr 1832, Freeman, ME, and died 12 Dec 1916, Hanson, MA.

i. Henry A. Whitney, b. 15 Jul 1856, Boston MA; m.(1) 28 Nov 1878, Boston, MA, Etta G. Martin; m.(2) 5 May 1917, Cory Evans.
ii. Elmer G. Whitney, b. 5 Jan 1861, Boston, MA; m. 9 Oct 1889, Minnie Frances Dyer, daughter of Isaac Henry and Abbie Baker (Cook) Dyer; b. 7 Apr 1870, Brighton, MA.[2]
