William J.⁹ Whitney, (Alanson⁸, [prob.] Jared⁷, [prob.] John⁶, Joshua⁵, Nathaniel⁴, Nathaniel³, John², John¹), son of Alanson⁸ and Almira (Cool) Whitney, was born 21 Jan 1854, IN, and died 2 Jan 1932. He was buried in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven, IN.^[1]

He married, 15 Oct 1878, Allen Co., IN, Amanda M. Snyder. She was born about 1860, IN, and her parents in PA, and died 31 Mar 1941. She was buried in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven, IN.^[2]
