Joseph⁵ Jones (Mary Whitney⁴, Jonathan³, Benjamin², John¹) son of Joseph and Mary⁴ (Whitney) Jones was born 29 Sep 1737 at Mendon, MA^[1] and died 22 Aug 1799 at Charleston, SC, at age 61^[2].

Joseph married Ruth Nelson, daughter of Nehemiah Nelson and Hannah Sheffield, 28 Dec 1763 at Milford, MA.

iii.	Nathaniel Jones, b. 22 Mar 1769 at Mendon, MA; b. 22 Mar 1769; m. Jane Field; wife "of South Carolina;" d. 22 May 1808 at Charleston, SC, at age 39.
iv.	Lucinda Sophronia Jones, b. 4 Jun 1771 at Mendon, MA; b. 4 Jun 1771; d. 15 Sep 1776 at Milford, MA, at age 5.
v.	Joseph Jones, b. 17 May 1773 at Mendon, MA; b. 17 May 1773; d. 14 Jul 1791 at Milford, MA, at age 18; in his 19th year.

xi.	Wiswall Jones, b. 22 Oct 1788; m. Martha W. Price 19 Apr 1817 at Savana, Jamaica; d. 8 Aug 1842 at Charleston, SC, at age 53. He and Martha W. Price lived at Charleston, SC. He and Martha W. Price had six children.
