Welcome

Welcome Adrian!

Robinson's Castles

Adrian,

I see that you've transcribed Robinson's A History of the Castles of Herefordshire and Their Lords, at Archive:A History of the Castles of Herefordshire and Their Lords. This had previously been transcribed and posted at Archive:Castles of Herefordshire. Clearly we don't need to have both pages on this web site.

If you wish, I can integrate the two versions (they are not quite identical), and delete one. Let me know if you agree to this, disagree with it, or if you intend to do the job yourself.

Hello

Hello Adrian,

Thank you for my welcome message! I'm still finding my way around at the moment!

My main interest on this website will be anything related to Frances HOW nee RODD, daughter of Robert RODD of Foxley. I found a very knowledgable gentleman, Michael Faraday, who has done a great deal of work on the RODD line. As with most lines there is conflicting information! The most amusing fact that came out of this line of research is that it looks like Thomas NEALE gave Alexander HOW a job at the Royal Mint, and Thomas NEALEs successor was Sir Isaac Newton!

Regards, Suzanne

Michael Faraday

Hello Adrian,

I'm very happy to be corrected! One of the reasons I'm here is to make sure that I find out the definitive Whitney line, and correct any mistakes. Michael and I corresponded a few months ago. I'm hoping that I can pass some new information back to him one day!

Regards, Suzanne

Francis

Excellent find on Francis! Not only does it suggest that Francis was from Herefordshire, but it also lets us know that he was with Bacon when Bacon was at Holborn.

2nd Whitney Connection

Hello Adrian, I have added a second Whitney connection to my homepage after some recent research. I have also done a few diagrams. I would appreciate some feedback on them, whenever you are not very busy :) Thanks! Cheers, Suzanne (SMWOOD)
