Humphrey Whitney (James, [poss.] Isaac4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of James and Deborah (Murch) Whitney, was born 26 Apr 1786, Gorham, ME, and died 16 Feb 1867, North Yarmouth, ME, aged 80 years 1 month.

He married, Sally -----. She was born about May 1798, and died 22 Jan 1886, North Yarmouth, ME, aged 87 years 8 months.

It is recorded that Humphrey was in North Yarmouth in 1814 and 1817 and in Cumberland in 1824, 1830, 1840, 1850 qne 1860. He is buried in a single lot in the Morrison Hill Cemetery, Cumberland, with his wife, Sally, his daughter, Elizabeth, and her husband, Moses Haskell, and their two daughters, Laura Dexter and Alice Haskell. Also buried at Morrison Hill is his brother, Phineas.

After the death of her husband, Sally Whitney and her daughter Elizabeth Whitney Haskell sold 35 acres of land in Cumberland to a Wescott family for $1000, May 13, 1867. - Portland, Maine, Deeds Office.
