1852. He enlisted, 31 Aug. 1864, in Co. A, 38th Reg., Wis. Vol. Infantry; and was discharged 2 June 1865, at Delancy House, D. C., having taken part in the actions at Shady Grove Church, Petersburgh, Hatche's Run, Yellow House, and Fort Steadman.

II. Martha Ann Whitney, b. at Onondaga Hill, N. Y., in 1830; married in 1853, at Syracuse, N. Y., John Henderson, a carpenter and joiner, son of Jonah and Susan (Marlett) Henderson, of Navarino, N. Y., where he was born in 1830. They dwelt at London, C. W., for several years; and then settled at Cleveland, Ohio, where she died 22 Jan. 1875, and was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery. She was a member of the Baptist Church. He was living at 46 Brown Street, Cleveland, in Jan. 1876.

IV. Helen Mar Whitney, b. at Onondaga Hill, N. Y., 2 Feb. 1835; married about July 1854, at her father's house in Onondaga Hill, Daniel Buck, a carriage-painter, born at Ira, N. Y., son of Daniel and Rebecca (Follet) Buck. They settled at Onondaga Hill; where she died 21 May 1871, and was buried. He married (2d), 15 Nov. 1872, Mary C. Kelly; and was living at Onondaga Hill in June 1875. He served in the war of 1861, from 1862 till its close. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.

They dwelt at Stockbridge, Mich., for one year; at Syracuse, N. Y., three years, till 25 Ap. 1872; at St. John's, Mich., till 20 May 1875; and, in June 1875, settled at Bridgeport, N. Y.
