"In the name of god Amen on the x daye of December in the yeare of or. Lord god comuntermon

of the churche of England viz. 1583 and in the xxvjth yeare of the Reigne of our Soverenge

Layd Elizabeth by the grace of god of England ffraunce and Ireland Queene Deffender

of the faithe &c I Elyzabeth whitney of Newcourte in the County of Hereford spincer

beinge Sike in body and never the Lese of good and perfecte memorye laud & praise

be unto allmighty god therefor consideringe the frarlty and uncertenty of this

Mortall Life to the intent that those whome I would should have those thinges wch. I

personally poses by landes or other wyse and for aquittannce of all thinges Do make this my Last will and

Testament in maner and of forme followinge First I comend my soulle unto allmighty

God my maker and Redimer by whosse bitter deathe and Passion I stedfastly hope

and beleve to atteine unto Everlastinge Life and to be Particler of the glory

Everlastinge & my body to be buried in the Parishe Church of Backton now

unto my nise Elyzabeth Johnes I do geve and bequethe to the Cathedrall

do geve to the Church of Llanvar of the brme xl s. to make use the windoee

The Whiche my ffather James Whitney Esqueir begane Itm I do geve and

bequeathe to Syslye xx s. and my fris gonne & the Rest of all my goods droite and

legases I do geve and bequeth unto my welbeloved Cosine Robert vaughan of

Newcourt wch. in the County of Heref. gentellman to geve and to distribut as the said

Robert shall for good by ys discreation betwine her Poorest frindes namely Thomas

Whitney James Whytney my sayd too brothers and Katringe whitney

my syster and to watkin vaughans children of ould Kintsone and to

Sebell Penoyre and Jane Whitney my base syster my deates and fyneraully

payd and discharged and this my Laste Will and testament I do make

ordeane & Constitute my welbeloved cosine Robert vaughan to be my solle
