He married firstly, Mar 1854, Albany, NY, Laura L. Sherman, daughter of Asahel and Mary H. (-----) Sherman. She was born Mar 1828, Lanesborough, MA, and died 16 Jul 1865, Lanesborough, MA, aged 36 years 7 months 7 days, of consumption.[3]
He married secondly, 5 Jun 1867, Dorchester, MA [also recorded in Lanesborough, MA], Abbie Glover Pope, daughter of Eben and Hannah (-----) Pope.[4] She was born 1 Oct 1840, Milton, MA, and died after 1900.
He was born in Lanesborough, on the old Whitney place, where he resided for many years. For a long time he was manager of the Briggs iron works there, until his removal to Dorchester, MA, where he passed the remainder of his life. He resided Lanesborough, MA.
