George Newton⁹ Whitney (Newton James⁸, David⁷, Isaac⁶, David⁵, Thomas⁴, Thomas³, Thomas², John¹), son of Newton James⁸ and Mary J. (Redding) Whitney, was born 3 Oct 1856, Walpole, NH (given name omitted),^[1] and died 10 Mar 1937, Tampa, FL.^[2]

He "of Langdon, NH" married, 12 Apr 1882, Grafton, VT, Ella S. (Willard) Huntley "of Alstead, NH", daughter of Hezekiah Oscar and Sarah Emeline (Babcock) Willard.^[3] She was born Nov 1854, MA, and died after 1920. She had married firstly, before 1870, Austin Huntley, son of Nathan R. and Charlotte A. (Matherson) Huntley, born 23 Jan 1854, Marlow, NH,^[4] and died 11 May 1880, Marlow, NH.^[5]

They resided Keene, NH.
