Joshua5 Whitney ([prob.] Joshua4, Cornelius3, Joshua2, John1), probably son of Joshua4 and [?Joanna?] (-----) Whitney, was born 1769, Providence, RI, and died said 22 Aug 1810, Aurelius, NY [but see will below].
He married, 1786, Phebe Parker. She was born said 1770, and died after 1820.
He resided Granville, Fleming, and Aurelius, NY.

Also in Box 4, letters of 24 Feb & 12 Mar 1929 (yes, 112 years later) from desc. Chloe Webster Jacques (Mrs. W. C.) (no return address) asking for info on Joshua Whitney & wife Phebe Parker who came from Granville, [Washington Co] NY, to Fleming, Cayuga Co, in 1804 ... names children Chauncy P., Joshua, Willard Washington, Polly Matilda, & Susan (later Mrs. Solomon Matthews). Polly Matilda married Cheslie Webster in Pontiac, MI, in 1823.[1]
